Deliming: in this process, the leather is treated with light chemicals, which helps rush out all the water outside and contaminants along with it. The PH level is reduced to remove any swelling.

Pickling: in this step, the leather is treated with chemicals to have the desired PH level so that the chemical can penetrate easily.
