Leather Manufacturing & Chemical Process

The leather industry has been evolved a lot, and the use of chemicals has also been modified. Earlier vegetable tanning products were being used to produce highly expensive leather, but that has been shifted to using synthetic tanning products, which are much cheaper and more efficient. Zsivira is a leather chemical  producing quality products for decades for its customers. Leather is used for various purposes like manufacturing bags, garments and various accessories. Manufacturing leather is a tough, time-consuming and costly process that takes nearly two months. The tanneries begin manufacturing leather by ordering hides; the hides can be shaped like cows and have several imperfections. The hide goes under the process wherein the hair is removed from the coats or hides; they are chemically treated to have a good texture and appearance. All the impurities are removed, and the skin is softened. The leather is then put through the tanning process, which makes it more durable and water-resistant. The tannins are added based on the end product, which the hide will serve like garments or shoes. The grain of leather and softness is determined based on the end product. The hides are then left for almost two weeks to be soaked in a mixture of water, chemicals and tannins before laying down to dry. Any imperfections are then inspected and cured.

The hides are then dyed and gain their texture and colour. The entire tanning process takes almost eight weeks before the hides are cut into different shapes. The leather is then cut into different shapes to be utilized to its maximum capacity. The large pieces are used to make belts, while the smaller ones are used to make zippers for bags.

Zsivira is a LEATHER TANNING CHEMICALS that has been manufacturing high-quality chemicals for tanning and other processes related to leather production. What are types of leather tanning chemicals?

The tanning industry has always been associated with luxury, and gaining the right texture and colour has always been the industry's concern. The colour and texture are imparted with different types of chemicals, whether natural or synthetic. Zsivira is a leather chemical manufacturerhttp://www.zsiviraindia.com/, producing several synthetic chemicals for various uses like syntans. There has been quite an advancement in the chemicals produced to make leather. The synthetic chemicals come in different variations to cater different textures and colours to leather. Let us see what other types of leather tanning chemicals used to make leather are:

Chrome tanning:

About 75% of the leather that has been made today is made with chrome tanning. It is an efficient method of tanning as it requires only half the leather chemical when compared to others. The chrome tanning process has been upgraded continuously by using less water, producing less waste and many other beneficial properties. Chrome tanning makes it possible for the leather to endure for many years. In the process, the chemicals can be recycled and this give a more ecological method of tanning.

Vegetable-tanning:

The vegetable tanning method is one of the oldest tanning methods that use an extract from woods, shrubs or any other natural material. It usually takes much longer to tan the leather using this method but the leather ages beautifully. Vegetable tanning is more eco-friendly, but if we look at a broader perspective, this tan is used double the quantity compared to a synthetic tan.

Zeolite Tanning:

Zeolite is an innovative and new method of tanning. Depending upon the temperature, the water is absorbed or released with the help of zeolite. Water absorption is a significant part of the tanning process; more water-soaked without swelling is an ideal condition.

Good quality leather is an outcome of time, efforts and excellent quality raw products. Much money is invested in producing leather; hence, choosing the correct chemical manufacture for superior quality leather is necessary. Different types of tanning agents are used for distinct industrial requirements. Zsivira is a leather chemical manufacturer producing several chemical agents. The properties of chemical distinguish the types of leathers made. If you want more information regarding leather chemicals, you can visit the following site: http://www.zsiviraindia.com/

There are different kinds of chemicals used during the process of leather making that aid in producing better quality leather products. It also enhances the strength and life of the leather product. The leather chemical used in leather making is biocides, surfactants, degreasers, swell regulating agents, lime, and sodium sulphate. The biocides are mainly used to prevent the growth of bacteria on the leather skin which can cause damage to the product. The surfactants are used to keep the back of the hides wet. The natural fats and greases from the leather skin are removed by the degreasing agent. The swelling of hides of skin is done by using the lime chemical and any uneven swelling is prevented by using the swell regulating agent. If the skin has any hair present, then by using sodium sulphide chemicals it is completely destroyed.
